Theory - Surface Plot Tool

Application

Surface Plots are used to visualize problems with two degrees of freedom.

Algorithm

The surface plot applet allows you to visualize the surface as if you were in the x-y-z space, looking at it from different directions. The rotation of the object can be performed in a variety of ways, this particular applet uses quaternions to track the rotation of the object in 3 dimensions (from MathWorld).

Architecture

The model is presented in a Java Applet.
